Our amazing Art teacher Di Zobel has done amazing work with our students over the years and with some help from visiting artists they have created some great art installations that are placed around our grounds. Here is a gallery of these works along with some that were constructed for our school.
Wall Hanging - 2010
The students, with help from visiting artist Martin Carter, decorated wooden tiles that were joined together to make our wonderful wall hanging which is displayed on the back wall of our office.
Clay Tree - 2012
Students worked with Martin Carter to make a clay tree that sits on our BER building. Preps to Grade 6 all made textured tiles and leaves that together formed a tree with extended branches.
Art Room Sink 2013
Students, with the help of visiting artist Martin Carter, made individual tiles . Some students worked together to make their tiles join to make a continuous picture.
Bollards - 2014
Martin Carter carved and erected these bollards and the students the painted them.
Wooden Men - 2014
This cluster of wooden people was made for our school yard by Martin Carter, one of our regular visiting artists.
Garden Creatures - 2015
Our students, with the help of visiting artist Maitreyi Ray, made mosaic pieces out of clay which completely covered the shaped poles . Then we create a fence, a gate and paving to welcome our garden visitors.
Mosaic Pavers - 2017
With the help of visiting Artist Maitreyi Ray our students made mosaic tiles for our garden. These were placed inside the gate around the bollards.
Wall Mural - 2017
The theme of our Mural is The world - Australia (around the sink) .The idea was to inspire conversations about our place in the world. Our indigenous history and culture, our animals and plants. The preps made the leaves and flowers on the trees around the sink. Grade 1 made the snakes that are attached to the map of Australia and these are meant to represent major gathering places of the aboriginal people. The older students made the birds and the animals. Sometimes working individually and sometimes working as part of a team to create the larger creatures.
